He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 49 years, Lou (Haverdink) Sternberg his children, Michael (Laura) Sternberg Katie Waurio, Jennifer (Joseph) Puplis, Kelsey Sternberg grandchildren, Sylvia, Gracie, Andrew, Claire, Henry, Ruby, George, and Charlie his mother, Goldie Sternberg siblings, Larry (Bette) Sternberg, Pat (Mark) Reuschel, Jane (Dan) Slagh in-laws, Orma (Harv) Jipping, Karl (Rhonda) Haverdink nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. His life of integrity, his humility and generosity continue to inspire us. We miss his thoughtfulness, compassion, and his voice, imparting both playful banter and quiet wisdom. We cherish our collective memories of family gatherings, church softball games, mission trips, building projects, holidays at Pokagon State Park, card games, wood puzzles, and time spent in his workshop. For over 40 years, he served the lakeshore community through his business, Quality Builders. We remember Dave as a dedicated man of faith, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and as a clever craftsman and gifted builder.
